OpenAI is preparing a major upgrade for ChatGPT users by integrating Sora AI video generation models directly into the chatbot. This move will allow users to create videos instantly without needing to visit Sora’s separate website or app, according to a report by The Information.

Currently, Sora operates as a standalone service, but it hasn’t achieved the widespread popularity that ChatGPT enjoys. Integrating Sora into ChatGPT will enable users to generate videos as easily as they create AI-generated images, enhancing digital creativity and user experience.

Higher Costs and Potential Ads

Reports indicate that adding Sora could increase OpenAI’s operational costs, which may lead the company to reconsider pricing strategies in the future. Additionally, OpenAI might expand in-app advertising to offset these costs.

Deepfake Concerns

While the feature may attract new users, it also raises concerns about deepfake content. Early use of Sora has already produced realistic videos mimicking historical figures, inappropriate content featuring celebrities, and clips containing copyrighted material.

With Sora integrated into ChatGPT, creating fake videos could become much easier, increasing the risk of bypassing technical safeguards, such as AI-generated watermarks. Users have previously manipulated AI prompts to trick models, bypassing restrictions on image and video generation.

Rising Competition in AI

This development comes amid intense competition in the AI model market. Claude, developed by Anthropic, has seen significant growth in popularity over recent weeks.

In parallel, Anthropic received public support after refusing Pentagon requests to use its AI models for widespread surveillance or autonomous weapons without human oversight. In contrast, OpenAI agreed to similar terms, sparking criticism and calls to boycott the platform.

In an increasingly digital ecosystem — stretching from  Arabic websites and specialized blogs, alongside insights drawn from Egypt-based online stores, Kuwait stores, and vitamin e-commerce platforms. personal account security is no longer optional.
